-You can store programs,so you can install them in another computer or in pen drive in self.They are become cheap and cheaper day buy day.You can get 2GB for than pendrive than

CD-ROM(+R,-R and RW):

-They can hold from 640MB to 700MB.

-They are usually read-only, but also it is possible to record all kinds of files from folders up to movies.

-CD-ROM RW( Rewraited):This cd also many things can be recorded and in addition it is possible to return to record .

-The CD-ROM-R is in use more.
